Between Two Worlds is a unique live performance of music and poetry, featuring readings by acclaimed poet Noel Monahan. Taking its title from one of his poems, the project explores two worlds; the written word and the word in song. Distinct and intertwined, when words fail, music speaks; and when music begins, the written word gives context.

The performance brings together musicians and artists Rita Perry, Cormac McCann, Ciaran O’Neill, Marcus Magee, Ellen O’Brien, Andrew Lynch, Emil Kapusta, Ronan Harrington and Daragh Slacke; to creatively interpret and respond to Monahan’s poetry through songs and soundscapes.

This is a living, evolving collaboration; drawing from Monahan’s existing work while opening space for new writing and creative responses. Rooted in Cavan, the performance celebrates the rich dialogue between Ireland’s musical and literary traditions, honouring the past while exploring where we are now and how we arrived here.
