TOWNHALL CAVAN, SATURDAY 23rd MARCH 2024 8PM

NYAH (Not Your Average Hooley) are delighted to bring you the phenomenal Irish Supergroup, Four Men And a Dog! Featuring five of Ireland’s most exhilarating musicians, including Ireland’s fore-most fiddler Cathal Hayden, ‘the God of the bodhran’ Gino Lupari, the wizard of the ‘box’ Donal Murphy, with the superb fiddler Stephen Hayden and the brilliant singer songwriter and guitarist Kevin Doherty! Four Men and A Dog are a major international ‘sell out’ stadium act, who blend vivacious high energy Irish ‘trad’ with rock, jazz, gypsy, blues, polka’s, county swing and even salsa!

Their live shows are fast and infectious .

And

Máirtín O'Connor Trio.

Máirtín O'Connor (accordion), Cathal Hayden (fiddle) and Seamie O'Dowd (guitar)

“…eclectic and invigorating..”

– The Journal Of Music

“…sheer brilliance…”

-The Irish Times

Their path has taken them from the Sydney Opera House to New York’s Symphony Space Centre . They toured central and Eastern Europe  and have played gigs in Ireland, Britain, Europe, The United States, Australia and New Zealand to ecstatic receptions from audiences.

Described aptly as “Irish traditional music’s power house trio”, their live performance is a virtual whirlwind tour from deep within the heart of the Irish musical traditions right to the edges of its outer limits.

The NYAH celebrates the traditional music, song, dance and culture of County Cavan, the Ulster tradition and the county’s very own musical style.

NYAH (pronounced neeyah) is an expression used to describe music from the heart that is neither forced nor phony.

NYAH Festival supported by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon FIS Scheme ,  Arts Office, Cavan County Council & Mary & Rich Brautigam
